CGR is focused on enabling liquid gas transportation with the lowest possible environmental footprint, with the intention of achieving zero emissions marine transportation in the future.
Oceania’s first and second vessels (Oceania 1 & 2) utilise LNG as a fuel combined with hybrid and peak energy shaving technologies from Kongsberg Maritime. Oceania’s third vessel, Oceania α, will utilise ammonia as a marine fuel coupled with hybrid battery electric technology.
Oceania 1 is the first deployable bunkering vessel with an LNG storage capacity of 6000m3. Oceania has options on up to two 6000m3 vessels with locked in steel rates and shipyard slots to ensure delivery by 2025.
Oceania 2 is Oceania Marine’s first ammonia ready bunker vessel, available for delivery by 2026. The Oceania 2 has a storage capacity of 8000m3 and will initially bunker LNG. The vessel will be retrofitted to operate on ammonia as the market develops, facilitating the Pilbara’s bulk carrier fleet transition towards net zero.
Oceania α is Oceania Marine’s first carbon neutral bunker vessel. Oceania α will be powered by Green Ammonia and capable of delivering 10,000m3 parcels of NH3. The fuel supply vessel is seeking approval in principle with Class for Q1 2023 and will be available for delivery by 2028.
